Trend Forecast:Virtual Insanity Slidedeck
The Objective
In my Fashion Forecasting class, we were tasked to analyze our current zeitgeist or spirit of the time. With that, we had to create a forecast for Fall/ Winter 2025. After compiling research, we found a trend based on:
overconsumption
rapid technological advancements
paranoia
nostalgia
Thus coining it “Virtual Insanity” - inspired by Jamirquoi’s hit song
Skills, And Such
This project displayed my ability to trend forecast given the social, political, technological, and cultural elements that are affecting consumer behavior

Found reliable sources that presented accurate data on what was happening in society and how it was effecting consumer behavior
-
Using a multitude of pictures from online, I created visually appealing slide deck that includes everything from mood boards to fabric swatches
-
I extensively used software such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Express to create the visuals
-
Principles such as proximity, alignment, repetition, and contrast to create a smooth visual experience.
-
This slide deck was presented and eloquently communicated in front of my fellow classmates and professors.

Key Takeaways…
Completing this project made me see the value of collaboration. Working on this group project allowed creative solutions to arise when challenges appeared. All our individual skill sets allowed for a well-rounded presentation - from kinetic imaging skills to public speaking.
Improving my graphic design skills has helped me communicate ideas more effectively through visuals, especially with a niche concept that may not be easily understood at face value.
Also, at the incomprehensibly rapid rate that technology is being developed and consumed, society accommodates and responds in conscious and subconscious ways. Fashion is at the forefront of these societal changes from political, social, cultural, technological, to environmental. From self-driving cars, ChatGPT, to global news at our finger tips, do we accept and acclimate to these innovations? In our forecast, we project the manifestation of VIRTUAL INSANITY.
